Visiting Time:

Queensway Carleton Hospital has no fixed  Visiting Time. However, patients are encouraged to visit between 10:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. and to check in with their care partner before visiting. Care partner attendance and visitation policies are reviewed at times of increased risk. Patient access can be modified based on risk and patient needs such as outbreak conditions.

Queensway Carleton Hospital Wait Times:

Queensway Carlton Hospital says emergency department wait times average about two hours a day, but sometimes up to eight hours a night. Especially when the number of patients increases suddenly, the waiting time becomes longer.

It is not first come first served. The waiting time is more or less depending on the condition of the patient. So tell the nurse well about your problem, so that she understands how quickly you need treatment.

All efforts will be made to serve you as soon as possible. There may be times when your visit or waiting to see a provider in the ED may be delayed because of the large number of patients requiring treatment.

While you are waiting, Please follow these instructions:

• Tell the triage nurse immediately if you start to feel sick and if your condition changes.
• Do not leave the ED without first telling the triage nurse. It is important to assess your injury, illness or condition before you leave.
• Do not drink or eat anything unless the triage nurse tells you to because the test will not be done if you drink or eat anything.
• Have only one family member or friend wait with you.
• You cannot use your mobile phone in the hospital. If you need to call someone, use the public telephone in the emergency department.
• Leave small children at home.
