About Hamilton General Hospital
Hamilton General Hospital (HGH) was Hamilton’s first hospital in 1848. In addition to providing general internal medicine care to its large population, it is home to several of Hamilton Health Sciences’ key regional referral programs, including: Burn, Cardiac Catheterization, Electrophysiology, Endovascular Treatment, Extracorporeal Life Support (ECMO), Neurosurgery, Trauma, Stroke, Cardiac Surgery, and vascular surgery.
It is also home to programs that provide specialized care to HNHBB residents: Spine, Cardiology and Neurology. In addition to providing leading-edge care, HGH is strongly connected to its surroundings and supports outreach activities aimed at helping improve the quality of life in the surrounding communities.
